One day I walked out onto our front porch and was startled to see hundreds of ladybugs on the walls.
It turns out that, as winter approaches, ladybugs seek warm places, where they then huddle together in tight formations to wait for spring. We were having suddenly warm weather, and the ladybugs, who were clinging to our house for warmth, suddenly came out and spent the day crawling and flying around. Our front porch was suddenly popular with all the neighborhood kids.
